Welcome to the world of Illusion or Shadow Knitting. This quick dishcloth is a great way to learn the technique, it is super easy. The right side rows are always knitted while the patterning of the wrong side rows create the image. There are 3 garter edge stitches throughout.
From above the piece looks as if it is knitted in two-row stripes. Once viewed from an angle the purl bumps become visible to reveal an image of a cat. The wrong side shows a reverse image of the cat.
Skills Required / What You'll Receive
Knit and Purl.

Suitable for beginners.

One size: 25 x 25 cm (10 x10 inches).
Materials List
Stylecraft Classique Cotton DK 105m/50g one skein in Shade Citronelle 7175 (Yarn A) and one skein in Shade Azure 7198 (Yarn B).
Alternative colours: Shown below in Shade 7184 Mauve (Yarn A) and 7180 Coral (Yarn B)
4 mm (US 6) needles at least 25 cm/10" in length or any needles for working flat.
Tapestry needle
Gauge: 22 sts and 32 rows to 10 cm (4 inches), measured in background pattern stitch after blocking.
