Halloween-Snails

This tutorial contains instructions on how to make a witch snail and a vampire snail. They are Halloween decorations and have a pumpkin and a garlic instead of a shell.
They will make a perfect décor for a flower pot, windowsill or a kitchen shelf.
Please be advised they do not stand independently, they need to be supported by a stand or a wire holder. You will find both versions in this tutorial.
A wire holder is a perfect solution to place your snail in a flower pot or onto a plant leaf so it avoids touching any dirt or soil. All you need is a piece of hard wire.

Crocheting level - intermediate.

Stitches (US-terminology):
ch – chain
st - stitch
sl st – slip stitch
sc – single crochet
inc – increase (2 sc in 1 st)
dec – decrease (single crochet two stitches together)
hdc - half double crochet

Techniques:
Magic Ring; crochet on chains; increase/decrease of stitches; crochet in continuous rounds, Color change; fasten off.

The size of your snails will depend on a yarn you choose. The thicker the yarn the bigger the snails will be.
My snails are 5.5 cm high. I used green colour cotton yarn, 425 m/100 g, 1,25 mm crochet hook.

Cotton yarn of your choice (any brand).
Yarn of the following colours is required:

• for snails: beige, pink, light lilac or grey
• for pumpkin and garlic: orange, brown, green, white
• for a hat and a raincoat: black, purple, a small amount of red and yellow yarn
  A crochet hook, I used 1,25mm crochet hook
  Hollow fiber, toy/cushion filling
  All purpose clear transparent glue, e.g. UHU
  4 beads for eyes or ready - made eyes, I used 6 mm beads
  A sewing needle, sewing thread
  A long needle for sculpting, strong thread for sculpting
  For embroidery: a few threads of black, pink, red and white
  White beads (2 pcs) – for vampire teeth (optional)
  Thin wire, its length will depend on the thickness of yarn. (I used around 12cm of beading wire) – for pumpkin tendrils
  Wire holder – its length and thickness will depend on the thickness of the yarn you choose (I used 2 mm diam wire , approx. 30 cm)
  For the stand: a lid of an appropriate size, green yarn.
