This tutorial contains instructions on how to make a snowman and several hats for him - a hat, a hat with earflaps, a cylinder, as well as a bucket. You will also be shown how to make a broom for your snowman.
The snowman is not designed to stand without support! But it can be leaned against the wall or fixed on a stand. It looks very nice as a Christmas tree decoration, you only need to make a loop or a clamp on it. It has wire armature in its arms and legs that enables them to change their position. You may make a snowman without wire armature, in that case it will be able to sit only. Mittens and boots are not removable. Sculpting is minimal, you would only need to sculpt the face and the tutorial describes it in detail. However, this is optional and you may choose not to perform any sculpting at all. This tutorial also demonstrates how to embroider a smooth smile. It won’t be difficult with such a huge number of detailed photos.

This pattern does not contain any crochet tutorials, you should have already mastered the basics of crocheting.
Crocheting level – intermediate. All parts are easy and quick to make. My tutorial contains numerous detailed photos of the process so even a novice will succeed.

Stitches (US-terminology):
ch – chain
st - stitch
sl st – slip stitch
sc – single crochet
inc – increase (2 sc in 1 st)
dec – decrease (single crochet two stitches together)

Techniques:
Magic Ring; crochet on chains; increase/decrease of stitches; crochet in continuous rounds, working with fluffy yarn, fasten off.

The size of your snowman will depend on the yarn you use. The thicker the yarn the bigger the toy you will get.
The height of my snowman is 11 cm + the height of the hat. I used 100% acrylic yarn, 450 m/100 g, 1,25 mm crochet hook.

You can choose the yarn at your discretion, of a similar color, composition and thickness. Acrylic, cotton will do. Yarn consumption depends on its thickness and a crochet hook size. My snowman consumed: around 15g of white colour yarn, 7 – 10g of other colours.
Yarn of the following colours is required:

• for snowman: white, brown, orange
• for hats: red, blue, green, black
• for the edge of hats: fluffy yarn of white color (I used a Breeze from Yarnart, 200m/100g)
• for mittens and boots: colour to choose from, I used red and blue
  A crochet hook, I used 1,25mm crochet hook
  Hollow fibre, toy/cushion filling
  All purpose clear transparent glue, e.g. UHU
  2 beads for eyes or ready - made eyes, I used 8 mm half - beads
  A sewing needle, matching sewing threads
  A long needle for sculpting, strong thread for sculpting
  For embroidery: a few threads of black, brown and white
  Beads of red color - to decorate the cylinder (or you can crochet from red yarn, you will find it in my tutorial)
  A piece of wire approx. 1,0 mm thick and 70 cm long for the arms (optional)
  Dry soft pastels or any other suitable means for tinting (brown and pink). I used eye shadows
