Colorways 1 - Stole

A knitting pattern for an impressive multidirectional stole, designed by Birgit Freyer.

With this pattern, you can knit an impressive stole in a size of your choice. This pattern has first been published in Birgit's collection Colorways 1, promoting the beautiful yarn Filace Moira with the wonderful colour changes, but Moira can be easily substituted with a variegated yarn of similar weight.

The stole is worked in different directions and is therefore truly eyecatching. The pattern contains charts.

Please note: This pattern contains detailed instructions about the construction and shaping, as well as charts for the ridges and eyelet rows. The distribution of the ridges and eyelet rows is up to your choice. On the last page of the pattern, you will find detailed examples.

This pattern contains 5 pages in a pdf file, including a photo of the finished stole, a schematic drawing, charts and explanations.

Size: 45 x 200 cm (17.75 x 78.75 in), variable

Original Yarn: Moira by Filace (350 m / 383 yd per 100 g), or any variegated yarn of similar weight
Yardage: approx. 700 m (770 yd), depending on size
Needle size: 4.0 to 5.0 mm (US size 6 to 8, UK size 8 to 6)

Notions: Stitch markers, yarn of contrasting colour to place stitches on hold (alternatively additional cables from interchangeable needle system), scissors, needle (to sew in threads).
