Skill level: advanced beginner – there are a few small pieces to crochet, but nothing really difficult.

Seated, Fred is approx. 15 cm (6 in) tall, standing approx. 30 cm (12 in).
He has wire reinforcement in his arms and legs, but still cannot stand fully on his own.
Gauge: 26 stitches × 24 rows = 10 × 10 cm / 4 × 4 in (2.5 mm hook).

50 g green yarn (sport weight cotton, e.g. Schachenmayr Catania, #2 fine)
scraps in light green and white
stuffing
2 black half beads, approx. 6 mm (1/4 in)
some wire
masking tape
crochet hook 2.5 mm (US C-2), darning needle, scissors, flat-nose and needle-nose pliers, glue
