IMPORTANT: You are buying a PDF crochet pattern, NOT the finished gnome.
This pattern is included in English AND German – both PDF versions are part of the download.
A classic Christmas gnome to crochet: under the long red pointed hat only the round nose and the soft white beard peek out, while grey legs in chunky red shoes dangle below. The beard is crocheted in eyelash or teddy yarn and gives him his cuddly face.
The red gnome is described – with light blue and light green he quickly turns into three. The materials listed are enough for all three.
If you run into any trouble, or if an error has slipped in somewhere: please message me FIRST, before leaving a review – we'll sort it out together!
Required skills: chain, single crochet, magic ring, increase and decrease. That is all you need – the gnome is worked entirely in basic stitches.
The pattern is a detailed step-by-step PDF with photos for every piece. Every round is written out individually, with stitch counts in the margin.
Skill level: easy – 6 manageable pieces (hat, body, beard, nose, shoes, legs) and basic stitches only. Very doable for confident beginners.
Finished size: approx. 20 cm (measured without the feet).
Used: 3 mm crochet hook – for the beard only, 4 mm.
Yarn weights: 2.5–3.5 for body, hat, shoes and legs · 4–5 for teddy and eyelash yarn.
• 50 g white teddy yarn, weight 4–5
• 50 g white eyelash yarn, weight 4–5
• 50 g each in red, light green, light blue and skin colour, weight 2.5–3.5
• scraps in green, white and grey, weight 2.5–3.5
• stuffing
• crochet hooks 3 mm and 4 mm, darning needle, scissors, a brush
(The amounts are enough for all three gnomes.)
You are welcome to sell your finished gnomes, as long as you include a note "Made from a pattern by Masche-fuer-Masche" with a link to my shop. The pattern itself is for private use only – it may not be sold, gifted, shared or published in any way, in any language.
You can download the pattern immediately after receipt of payment.
