Chains, single crochet, slip stitches, half double crochet, double crochet, magic ring, increases and decreases, plus colour changes. Most parts are worked in rounds, the eyes, headscarf, eye patch and belt partly in rows – each part says which.

Every round is written out separately, the stitch count is given at the end of each round, and the steps are shown in photos. At the end everything is sewn together and the nose, mouth, earring and belt buckle are embroidered on.

Gauge: 24 stitches × 22 rows with a size C hook (3 mm, single crochet) = 4 × 4 inches.
Yarn used: 50 g each in brown, blue and beige plus left-overs, and about half a bag of stuffing.
With a different yarn or hook size the monkey turns out smaller or larger accordingly.

• 50 g each of yarn in brown, blue and beige, for hook size 3 – 3.5 mm (I used Schachenmayr Bravo)
• left-overs in dark brown, maroon, red, white, yellow and black, for hook size 3 – 3.5 mm
• one safety eye in brown and black, about 9 mm
• stuffing, about half a bag
