Irides Shawl Crochet Pattern for Beginners

Written in US terms but with an additional column in the key for UK terms.

You can work this pattern with basically any yarn and gauge you like. For the summer, i would suggest lighter yarn with a viscose, silk or cotton portion and a looser gauge, for the winter you can make the fabric denser by using a bigger yarn and a denser gauge. Please consider the pattern will always have holes, so it won‘t be completely windproof.

Gauge: To get the size shown:
19 sts x 7 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 “)

Tutorials are included as pictures, there is also a video for the shawl linked in the pattern. It is in german, but with subtitles and the pattern next to it, you can still use it!

The pattern is written out AND has charts.

Needed stitches:

• chain
• single crochet
• double crochet
• front and back post double crochet
• magic ring

Size: Fully adjustable

Materials:

• Original: 100% Cotton „Bobbel“ gradient yarn with 1500m/345g (1640yds/12oz)
• Crochet hook (depending on your desired fabric), I used a 3.25 mm (US:10, UK: 3)
• Darning needle.
• Stitch marker to make tip more visible (just if you want to for the beginning of the shawl - it is NOT
  crucial to work this pattern.
