LIL scarf, knitting pattern, Minishawl, knitted scarf, all yarns and sizes

When I came up with this design idea, I was wondering if the world really needs another simple garter stitch mini scarf. But I believe there can never be too many catchy patterns, which are mindless and addictive to knit.
This scarf is worked from tip to tip by simply repeating the same two rows over and over – no need to keep track of increases, decreases or yardage. It’s also very flexible regarding width, length and yarn weight: any yarn from fingering to bulky works well. The perfect project to use your favorite hand-dyed or other special yarn.
The name “LIL” comes from the colorway of the first sample, Love is Love, and is also short for “little”.
Use the hashtag #LILscarf to share your project on Instagram.

GAUGE
It is recommended to cast on the scarf directly with your chosen yarn and matching needle size. After a few centimeters/inches, you can wash and block or steam-block the scarf to see if you like the fabric.
Sample 1 (rainbow): 19 sts x 34 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 inches) in garter stitch, measured after blocking
Sample 2 (pink): 16 sts x 34 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 inches) in garter stitch, measured after blocking
Sample 3 (pale blue): 14 sts x 30 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 inches) in garter stitch, measured after blocking

simple, beginnerfriendly
