Blooms Scarf

A spring, autumn and summer shawl in a diamond shape with I-cords on the side and a lace pattern showing large flowers.

You only need about 300 m of your favorite spring or summer yarn. A natural fiber content of about 50% ensures that the lace pattern remains nice and open.

The shawl is knitted over 294 rows and a maximum of 77 stitches and is perfect for non-elastic materials such as silk, cotton, linen or viscose. Alternatively a brushed alpaca also works well for the lace pattern and gives you a feather-light, fluffy feeling on the neck.

Knitted in DK yarn, the shawl is about 1 m long and up to 35 cm wide. With thicker yarn it becomes larger, with thinner yarn it becomes smaller.

For winter combine your favourite Springyarn with brushed alpaca for a particularly warm and fluffy shawl. If you like and can tolerate it on your skin, you can of course also use mohair.

Either choose a DK yarn (cotton, viscose, silk blend, half linen, etc...) The scarf in dusky pink in the picture is 100% cotton 8/4 Søstrene Grene, 50 g = 160 m (2 skeins needed)

Or a combination of a nonstretchy yarn in lace or fingering weight (viscose, cotton, linen, silk) and a brushed alpaca silk (e.g., Fluffy from Krakenyarns 50 g = 300 m). Needle size: EU 3.75 to 4.5 as a circular knitting needle. With a gauge of approx. 22 stitches on 30 rounds for 10 x 10 cm, the scarf will be about 1 m long and 35 cm wide.

Alternatively, the scarf can be knitted in one thread of brushed alpaca the scarf will be light as a feather and wonderfully fluffy! The red scarf is made of brushed alpaca (225 m per 50 g, e.g., from Hansafarm). Needle size: EU 3.75 to 4.5. The scarf will then be about 90 cm long and 34 cm wide. With thicker needles or a looser knitting style, it will be correspondingly larger.

Aran
Either choose an Aran yarn (cotton, viscose, silk blend, halflinen, etc...)
Or a combination of a nonstretchy yarn in lace or fingering and a thread of brushed alpaca (50 g =
225 m). The black scarf is knitted in such a combination.
Needle size: EU 4.5 to 5 for circular knitting needles. With a gauge of approx. 18 stitches on 24
rounds for 10 x 10 cm, the piece will be about 125 cm long and 42 cm wide.
