Free Crochet Pattern 3 in 1 Hat, Loop, Wrist-Warmer

Materials:

Yarn 100g= approx.130m (e.g. Hand Knitting yarn „Merle“ Colour 3 – equals #5 Bulky or a thin #4 Worsted, Aran)

Crochet Hook 4,00mm US G UK 8

We crochet the hat from the bottom, means we start at the cuff.

Cast on 11 chain (for a wider cuff just crochet some more chains), in the 2nd Stitch from hook and all following crochet each 1 slst, turn

*1CH, in each Stitch of the Row each 1 slst – work into the back loop only. turn*

You get a rib pattern. Repeat from * to * till you have the needed circumference (length).

As soon you reached the length (circumference) that you need, crochet or sew the ends together.

I always recommend to crochet the cuff 2-3 cm smaller then needed as the yarn usually will expand.

Crochet around the border with SC.

Now work ahead in rounds. Every Round will start with 1 or 3 CH and end with a slst.

1.Round

1CH, in each stitch of the round before 1 SC. Finish the round with 1 slst. Turn

2. Round

1CH, in each stitch of the round before 1 SC. Finish the round with 1 slst. turn

3. Round

1CH, in each stitch of the round before 1 SC. Finish the round with 1 slst. turn

4. Round

1CH, in each stitch of the round before 1 SC. Finish the round with 1 slst. turn

5. Round

1CH, in each stitch of the round before 1 SC. Finish the round with 1 slst. turn

6. Round

Cast on 3 CH and crochet those together with 2 DC, 1CH, skip 1 Stitch,*in the next ST DC3tog, 1CH, skip 1 Stitch, *

Repeat from * to * till end of the round. Finish the round with a slst. turn

So you crochet DC together:

2CH,* yarn over the hook and go into the same Stitch, get the yarn thru.

Again yarn over and pull it thru 2 loops. Now you have 2 loops on the hook.

Once more yarn over and got into the same stitch, get the yarn thru.

Again yarn over and pull it thru 2 loops. Now you have 3 loops on the hook

Yarn over and pull it thru 3 loops*

1CH, skip 1 Stitch, yarn over and go into the next stitch, get the yarn thru. Then again yarn over and pull it thru 2 loops.

Start over at the *.

You can repeat all rounds 1 to 6 as often as you need to reach the length you like/need.

Last Round

1CH,*each 1 SC in the next 3 Stitches, 2 CH, skip 1 SC *

Repeat from * to * till end of round.

Crochet a chain of chains, turn the hat inside out and place the chain between the last round and the round before the last round, pull it together and make a knot

Turn the Hat back from inside out.

Done! You can also wear the hat as scarf.

Wrist-Warmer

Cast on chs and close with a sl st to a ring.

Rnd 1-5

1CH, in each stitch of the round before 1 SC. Finish the round with 1 slst. turn

6. Round

Cast on 3 CH and crochet those together with 2 DC, 1CH, skip 1 Stitch,*in the next ST DC3tog, 1CH, skip 1 Stitch, *

Repeat from * to * till end of the round. Finish the round with a slst. turn

Repeat Rnds 1-5 one time
