Tips & Tricks
- It’s helpful to mark the beginning of each round or row using a stitch marker or a small piece of yarn.
- This pattern is worked in closed rounds, meaning each round is finished with a slip stitch (photo 1). To begin the next round, chain 1 (see photo 2). The first stitch of the new round is worked into the same stitch where you made the slip stitch to close the previous round (see photo 3).

- Unless otherwise noted, work into both loops of each stitch.
- Using the recommended yarn, the finished heart measures about 5.5 cm (approximately 2.2 in). You can of course use different yarns — just keep in mind that the size will vary depending on the yarn thickness.

Pattern Cuddly Heart
Part 1
| Rnd 1: | 4 sc in MR, sl st in 1st St | (4) |
| Rnd 2: | ch 1, [inc, sc] x2, sl st in 1st St | (6) |
| Rnd 3: | ch 1, [sc, inc] x3, sl st in 1st St | (9) |
| Rnd 4: | ch 1, [inc, sc] x4, inc, sl st in 1st St | (14) |
| Rnd 5: | ch 1, [sc, inc] x7, sl st in 1st St | (21) |
| Rnd 6: | ch 1, [inc, 2 sc] x7, sl st in 1st St | (28) |
In the following round, mark the 18th stitch (photo 4).
| Rnd 7: | ch 1, [sc, inc, 2 sc] x7, sl st in 1st St | (35) |
Now work 1 sl st into the marked 18th stitch. Next, crochet the first heart curve by working the following rounds only on one half of the heart (photo 5).

| Rnd 8: | ch 1, 18 sc, sl st in new 1st St (originally 18th St) | (18) |
| Rnd 9: | ch 1, [sc, dec] x6, sl st in 1st St | (12) |
| Rnd 10: | ch 1, 6 dec, sl st in 1st St | (6) |
Now cut the yarn, leaving a tail of about 15 cm (6 in). Thread the yarn through the last 6 stitches and gently pull tight to close. Weave the yarn end into the inside of the heart and stuff the heart firmly as much as possible.
Part 2
Attach a new yarn strand to the heart to crochet the second heart curve. Insert your hook into the center of the heart, pull up a loop (photo 6), and then chain 1.

Continue as follows:
| Rnd 1: | 18 sc | (18) |
| Rnd 2: | ch 1, [sc, dec] x6, sl st in new 1st St | (12) |
At this point, stuff the remaining part of the heart firmly with fiberfill.
| Rnd 3: | ch 1, 6 dec, sl st in 1st St | (6) |
Now cut the yarn, leaving a tail of about 15 cm (6 in). Thread the yarn through the last 6 stitches and gently pull tight to close. All that’s left to do is weave in the yarn end — and your Cuddly Heart is finished!
