Joke hot dog amigurumi

Materials:

Same thickness yarn of your choice (acrylic, cotton). I used acrylic in different colors, 400 m/ 100 g and thin red cotton for the tongue (280m/50 g). The size of the finished hot dog is 11 cm.

Yarn of the following colours is required: sand, beige, green (2 shades), red (3 shades), and pink. And also small amount of white, yellow, black and brown colour yarn.

- Crochet hooks in two sizes. I used No.1.25 and No. 1.0

- A sewing needle, matching sewing threads

- Hollow fibre for stuffing

- For embroidery: a few threads of light yellow

- All purpose clear transparent glue, e.g. UHU

- Trinket (thin cord), optional

- A piece of wire with a diameter of 0.75 - 1mm approx. 30cm long

- For the eyes: 2 half-beads, I used 6mm diam half-beads, white piece of felt or 1 pair of ready-made eyes.

Abbreviations:

ch – chain

sl st – slip stitch

sc – single crochet

Work with beige colour yarn. Work 16 ch, mark the 1st loop from the hook.

The top half of the bun

Work with sand colour yarn. Work 16 ch, mark the 1st loop from the hook.

Do not cut off the thread! Stuff a little.

Join the top and bottom parts together. Work hooking through both parts:

Stuff lightly as you go.

Fasten off, cut off any excess yarn, hide the end.

Connect the two halves of the bun from point A to B with the 14 sl st.

Lettuce leaf

Crochet in rows. Start with light green colour yarn.

Row 1. work 16 ch, starting from 2nd ch from hook: 14 sc, 3 sc in the last stitch, continue along the other side of chain: 14 sc, 1 ch, turn = 31

Change to green yarn.

Row 2.  14 sc, 3 inc, 14 sc, 1 ch, turn = 34

Row 3.  5 sc, 9 dc, (2 dc in 1 loop)* 6 times, 9 dc, 5 sc, 1 ch, turn = 40

Row 4.  3 sc, (2 dc in 1 loop)* 5 times, (2 tr in 1 loop)* 24 times, (2 dc in 1 loop)* 5 times, 3 sc = 74.

Fasten off, cut off any excess yarn, hide the end.

A slice of tomato

Start with dark pink colour yarn

Rnd 1.  6 sc in a Magic Ring = 6

Rnd 2.  6 inc = 12

Rnd 3. (1 sc, inc)*6 times = 18

Change to dark red yarn

Rnd 4. (2 sc, inc)*6 times = 24

Rnd 5. (3 sc, inc)*6 times = 30

Change to red yarn.

How to Crochet a Spike Stitch? (The stitch has also been called the elongated single crochet or the long single crochet). Insert your hook between the stitches of the first and second rnd. Yarn over and pull up a loop that is the same height as your current row stitches.

Yarn over and pull through both loops to complete the stitch.

Rnd 6. (3 sc, 1 Spike Stitch, skip 1 loop, 1 inc, 1 Spike Stitch, skip 1 loop, 3 sc, 1 inc)* 3 times = 36

Change to dark pink yarn

Rnd 7. (6 sc, 1 Spike Stitch, continue 5 sc, inc)* 3 times = 42

Change to red yarn

Rnd 8. (6 sc, inc) *3 times = 48

Crochet another 2 sl st. Fasten off, cut off any excess yarn, hide the end.

Embroider tomato seeds with a light yellow thread.

Onion

Work with white colour yarn.

Rnd 1. work 24 ch, join into a ring with a sl st

Fasten off, cut off any excess yarn, hide the end.

Dachshund Sausage

Work with pink colour yarn.

Foreleg (make 2)

Rnd 1.  6 sc in a Magic Ring = 6

Rnd 2-4. 6 sc

Fasten off, cut off. Add some hollow fiber.

Hind leg (make 2)

Rnd 1.  6 sc in a Magic Ring = 6

Rnd 2-5. 6 sc

Muzzle

Start with black colour yarn

Tongue

Work with red colour yarn. Choose a little thinner yarn than the main yarn

Cut off yarn, leave a tail for sewing.

Tail - body

First, we crochet the tail. Tip: crochet a tail from a yarn divided in half, so the tail will be thinner and more elegant. To do this, cut the yarn about 1.5 meters long and divide the yarn into composite threads. Take a smaller hook.

Join forelegs to the body in the next round.

Rnd 34. attach the 1st leg, work the loops of the leg and body together: 3 sc, work into the loops of the body: 2 sc, attach the 2nd leg, work the loops of the leg and body together: 3 sc, work into the loops of the body: 10 sc = 18

Rnd 35-41. 18 sc

Join the muzzle to the body in the next round.

Rnd 42. 2 sc, attach the muzzle, work the loops of the muzzle and body together: 4 sc, work into the loops of the body: 12 sc = 18

Rnd 43. 2 sc, continue along the loops of the muzzle: 5 sc, continue along the loops of the body: 12 sc = 19

Rnd 44. 5 sc, dec, 12 sc = 18

Prepare the wire and insert it into the body (at your wish).

Fold the piece of wire in half. The length is determined individually. The length of the wire will depend on the size of the sausage. I used a wire with a diameter of 0.75 mm, 30 cm long. Twist the wire by 3/4, insert the twisted part into the body, the ends of the wire are the frame for the ears.

Add some hollow fibre. Add such an amount of hollow fibre that the dachshund's body can bend.

Rnd 45-47. 18 sc

Rnd 48. (dec, 1 sc)*6 = 12

Add some hollow fibre.

Rnd 49. 1 sc, at this point, bring the wire out (for the left ear), (dec, 1 sc)*2 times, at this point, bring the wire out (for the right ear), dec = 6

Pull off the loops. Cut the thread, hide the end.

Ear (make 2)

Work with brown colour yarn.

Rnd 1. work 3 ch, starting from 2nd ch from hook: 1 sc, 3 sc in the last stitch, continue along the other side of chain: 2 sc = 6

Rnd 1-8. 6 sc.

Cut off yarn, leave a tail for sewing.

Dress the ears on the wire. Make a loop on the end of the wire. Cut off the excess wire. Sew the ears on.

Sew the eyes – black beads.

Attach the hind legs. Sew them on. Sew the tongue on.

Mustard

Work with yellow colour yarn.

Work 45-50 ch. Fasten off, cut off.

Sew mustard on the dachshund's tummy.

Dachshund is completed!

If the hot dog is a keychain, fix all the details with glue and sew a keychain loop or a trinket.

Your child can use this kit in their game. A bun can become a bed for a dog, a tomato can turn into a pillow, and a lettuce leaf may become a blanket. Due to the fact that there is a wire frame inside the toy, the dachshund can take other poses.
