cow crochet

According to this description you will crochet a plush cow to keep the pajamas. All the details except the bag are crocheted with a double thread. The bag is knitted with a thick yarn. The size of the finished toy turned out to be 54 cm. Any yarn is suitable for crocheting/knitting. If, for example, you take the yarn Yarn Art velour 100 gr/170 m, you do not need to use the double thread, the thread is already thick enough.

You will need the following:

Katia Velvet Fine White 200 gr. (160 m/ 50 gr)

Katia Velvet Fine Brown 70   gr. (160 m/ 50 gr)

Katia Velvet Fine Pink 30 gr. (160 m/ 50 gr)

- Crochet hook  3, 75 mm

- Knitting yarn for the bag - 200 gr. (60 m/ 100 gr)

- knitting needles 6 mm

- Safety eyes  18- 20 mm

- Fiberfill, 1 sewing needle and a tapestry needle

- Head, legs, ears, horns are crocheted in spiral rounds. This means that the round will NOT be
finished with a slst.
- Use a stitch marker. A small thread (other colour then your working yarn) helps you
counting the rounds. Just place it at the start of a round on top of your working thread.

- All the details except the lining are crocheted with the double thread.

Tightening of the eyes.

Mark the beginning of the 16 nd row with a marker. In this place we begin to do the tightening. Insert a needle from the bottom of the marker and take it out to the left eye from below, go a couple of rows up. Insert a needle in the same way at the left eye, but already from above. Then take it out to the other side to the right eye from above as well. Go a couple of rows down. Insert a needle at the bottom of the right eye and return to the 16 nd row to the marker. Tighten the threads well, fasten off and weave in the ends. You can repeat the same with the inner corners of the eyes.

Finished. This is how it should look now.

My cow was made for a girl over 5 years old, that’s why I glued the eyelashes. If your toy is intended for a small child, do not forget about the safety. In that case it is better to embroider the eyelashes and fasten the threads well. You can not make the eyelashes, it is on your discretion. Glue the eyelashes.

Embroider the nostrils between the 8 and 9 rows of the head with a double thread, grasping 2 rows at once. Make a couple of stitches, then sew them round.

Ears

6 sc in the magic ring,

1. 6 sc

12. (3 sc, 1 dec)х6 (24)

13. (2 sc, 1 dec)х6 (18)

14-15. 18 sc

Tighten the ears, do not stuff the ears, and sew them, stepping 7 rows up from the eyes.

You continue to work at the bottom of the bag.

Pull thin rubber band with cord stopper (double hole) through the stitches and knot together, sew on. Pulling together. Now the bag is closed too.
