Brooch or keychain "Bee"

Materials:

– Alize forever 50 g/300 m

– 1,25mm crochet hook

– a needle, a pair of scissors, hollow fibre stuffing, 2 half round flat back beads to make eyes, transparent all purpose glue, 0,8mm gauge and 7 cm (approx 2,75″) long wire segment,  a piece of shape plastic, blank brooch base tray/ safety pin

Abbreviations:

sc – single crochet

inc – increase

dec – decrease, two single crochets together 

Body

(start in yellow)

1. Crochet 6 sc in a magic ring

2. 6 inc = 12 sc

3. (1 sc, 1 inc) х 6 = 18 sc

4. (2 sc, 1 inc) х 6 = 24 sc

5. (3 sc, 1 inc) х 6 = 30 sc

6. (4 sc, 1 inc) х 6 = 36 sc

7. (5 sc, 1 inc) х 6 = 42 sc

8. (6 sc, 1 inc) х 6 = 48 sc

9 – 14. 48 sc 

15, 16. 48 sc  black

17, 18. 48 sc  yellow

19, 20. 48 sc  black

21, 22. 48 sc   yellow

23. (6 sc, 1 dec) х 6 = 42 sc

24. (5 sc, 1 dec) х 6 = 36 sc

To keep one side flat, add a piece of plastic inside the shape. Cutting to size the resulting shape.

Stuff lightly.

Bind off. Cut off any excess thread.

Close up the edges with a crochet hook 6 sc.

Bind off. Leave  a small piece of thread for further sewing.

Close up the edges with a crochet hook 3 sc.

Bind off. Leave  a small piece of thread for further sewing.

Add wings to the flat side. Sew on.

Glue eyes, embroider a mouth.

The antennae should be made of black wire about 7 cm long.If there is no black wire, we do it ourselves. Wrapping with black thread, securing with glue.

Attach any fastener of your choice for a keychain or brooch.
