Free Crochet Pattern. Straberry Baby Bonnet

ABBREVIATIONS

Ch =chain

St= stitch

Sc=single crochet

Hdc= half double crochet

scbp=single crochet back post

Sl st= slip stitch

Rnd= round

Dc= double crochet

Dc2tog = double crochet 2 stitches together

Rnd 2: *ch4, 2 tc in the same st, 2 tc and ch4 in next st, sl st in next st*, repeat from* to* 5 times.

INSTRUCTIONS

The Bonnet is begun with a circular medallion for the back of the head and and worked outward.

Back of Bonnet:

Rnd 1: Chain 4 stitches joined with sl st or magic ring.

Rnd 2: into the middle of ch4: ch 3, 11 dc, sl st to top of ch3.

Rnd 3: ch 3, dc in the same st as ch, 2 dc in each of next 11 st, sl st.

Rnd 4: ch 3, dc in the same st as ch, dc in next st, *2 dc in next st, dc in next st*, repeat from*to* 11 times, sl st.

Rnd 5: ch 3, dc in the same st as ch, dc in each of next 2 st, *2 dc in next st, dc in each of  next 2 st*, repeat from*to* 11 times, sl st.

Rnd 6: ch 3, dc in the same st as ch, dc in each of next 3 st, *2 dc in next st, dc in each of  next 3 st*, repeat from*to* 11 times, sl st.

Rnd 7: ch 3, dc in the same st as ch, dc in each of next 4 st, *2 dc in next st, dc in each of  next 4 st*, repeat from*to* 11 times, sl st.

Rnd 8: ch 3, dc in the same st as ch, dc in each of next 5 st, *2 dc in next st, dc in each of  next 5 st*, repeat from*to* 11 times, sl st.

Rnd 9: ch 3, dc in the same st as ch, dc in each of next 6 st, *2 dc in next st, dc in each of  next 6 st*, repeat from*to* 11 times, sl st.

Do not fasten off.

Body of Bonnet:

Rnd 1: ch 1, sc in the same st as chain, *ch 2, skip next 2 st, 2 dc separated by 2 ch stitches in next st, ch 2, skip next 2 sts, sc in next st*, repeat from* to* 11 times, turn.

Rnd 2: ch 4, skip 2 st, *3 clusters of 3 dc, separated by ch 2 in ch-2 space, ch 1, skip next 5 st*, repeat from* to* 11 times, turn.

Rnd 3: ch 4(counts as dc and ch 1), skip next 2 st, *dc in ch 2 space, ch 1, skip next 2 st, dc in ch 2 space, ch 1, skip next 2 st, dc in ch 1 space, ch 1*, repeat from* to* 11 times, turn.

Rnd 4: ch 3, dc in each of next st, turn.

Rnd 5-8: Rep Rnd 1-4.

Rnd 9-11: Rep Rnd 1-3.

Rnd 12: ch 1, sc in the same st as ch, *3 dc in next st, picot of 3 ch, 2 dc in the same st, skip 2 sts, sc in next st, skip next 2 sts *, repeat from* to* 10 times, 3 dc in next st, picot of 3 ch, 2 dc in the same st, sc in next st (12 shells).

Do not fasten off.

Neckline:

Rnd 1: Work one row in sc along lower edge.

Rnd 2: ch 5 (counts as 1 dc and ch 2), *skip next 2 sc, dc in next sc, ch 2*, repeat from* to* till the end of row.

Fasten off, weave in ends. Weave ribbon through spaces between dc´s on neckline.
