Colorways 1 - LoopScarf

An easy knitting pattern for a beautiful loop scarf by Birgit Freyer.

With this pattern, you can knit a beautiful loop scarf. This pattern has first been published in Birgit's collection Colorways 1, promoting the beautiful yarn Filace Moira with the wonderful colour changes, but Moira can be easily substituted with a variegated yarn of similar weight.

The loop scarf is worked in the round in a zig-zag pattern and is truly eyecatching, but rather easy to knit. The pattern contains charts.

This pattern contains detailed instructions about the construction and shaping, as well as charts for the main pattern and the ridges. The distribution of the ridges is up to your choice. On the last page of the pattern, you will find detailed examples.

This pattern contains 3 pages in a pdf file, including a photo of the finished loop, a schematic drawing, charts and explanations.

Required skills:

  • working from charts
  • knitting in the round
  • knit, purl, increases and decreases (explanations for the used kinds of increases and decreases are given in the pattern)

The difficulty level of the pattern is 1-2 (of 5).

The loop has a cirumcerence of 140 cm / 55 in, and a length of 25 cm / 10 in, but the measurements are variable by adding or skipping pattern repeats. Directions for varying the size are given in the pattern.

Original Yarn: Moira by Filace (350 m / 383 yd per 100 g), or any variegated yarn of similar weight
Yardage: approx. 400 m (437 yd), depending on size
Needle size: 4.0 to 5.0 mm (US size 6 to 8, UK size 8 to 6)

Notions: Stitch markers (if necessary), scissors, needle (to sew in threads).

Have fun with your needlework!

Schade!

    Tolle idee
Was eine tolle Idee.
