Crochet Hat Women Size

I ordered this pattern and have made two hats. I love how the hats turned out, but it was very tricky to get started. I finally got the idea to put a safety pin to mark every "chain 1" so I didn't lose my place which is really easy to do with these instructions. Maybe it was just me, but I was happy to find a way to make this hat--hope this helps anyone who had my problem.
