This PDF crochet pattern consists of illustrated tutorial for crocheting baby & children's socks with the knitted look pattern (cuff, heel and toe) and relief pattern for sizes from 0 months to 4 years old. The socks can be crocheted in two or one colour. You can crochet these socks for both winter and summer, depending on the wool (see "Materials required"). The pattern describe two variations of the upper cuff: 1st variation with sl st, 2nd variation with bpdc/fpdc.
Attention! The socks are crocheted partially (only the shank) with the sl st. Crocheting with the sl st, inserted either in the back loops only or in the front loops only of the previous row, requires a little practice. Before you start crocheting, practice crocheting with an old thick wool (wool scraps). After a few practices, crochet with sl st will work out very quickly. Otherwise, crochet very loosely, take the crochet hook 0.5 to 1 size larger than recommended for your wool.
I have created a video with the explanation for the relief pattern (basic pattern). It has been uploaded as an additional file to the PDF file here at CP. This video makes crocheting the basic pattern much easier.
