Gingerbread House Tea Cosy Knitting Pattern

With the Gingerbread House Tea Cosy knitting pattern you can create this wonderful tea cosy of a Gingerbread House.

It's such a joyful tea cosy. It's bright and cheerful, and oozes festive cheery whilst keeping the teapot hot. A wonderfully decorative project that will look amazing.

The main part of the house is the main part of the tea cosy, and then the roof is knitted separately. The knitting stitch for the tiles is an easy slip stitch pattern, and it looks fantastic, as if it was decorated with icing.

The spout and handle are at the sides of the house and the front and back of the gingerbread house have the gable ends of the roof. Gable ends are very important with gingerbread houses because its lovely to see the icing dripping down like icicles, in this case its knitted icicles.

The house is decorated with small sweeties and striped candy canes, it looks really colorful and full of joy.

SL1 Slip one stitch
PSSO Pass Slip Stitch Over
Rep Repeat
K2tog Knit 2 Stitches Together
P2tog Purl 2 Stitches Together
P3tog Purl 3 Stitches Together
Inc1 Increase in next stitch (knit in front and back of stitch on a knit row. Purl in back and front of stitch in a purl row)
T&D Thread the end of the yarn through the remaining stitches and through the loop of the yarn itself and draw up the knitting tightly and Finish off.
Slip Cluster - Slip next 4sts onto the right-hand needle, K1, then pass the 4 slip stitches over the knitted stitch (1st)
Stocking Stitch Knit a row, purl a row
