Tiny feet, big Christmas spirit.
With their little antlers, bright red noses and cozy cuffs, these crocheted reindeer booties are made for the winter and holiday season. They’ll keep tiny toes snug and warm while making a lovely handmade gift for a new baby, expecting or new parents, or a very special first Christmas.
And if you’re planning a festive baby photo shoot, these little reindeer booties make an adorable Christmas accessory too.
The extra-soft sole and thick, cozy cuff make the booties wonderfully soft and comfortable. The pattern includes two sizes for babies from 0–3 and 3–6 months.
The pattern is suitable for confident beginners and includes detailed step-by-step instructions, plenty of helpful photos and additional crochet charts for the sole and cuff.
You should be familiar with:
chain stitches, slip stitches, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet and front post stitches. A photo tutorial for the front post stitches is included.
The pattern includes two sizes:
For the most reliable gauge check, crochet one sole in your chosen size first and measure its length against the measurements given in the pattern.
Babies grow at different rates, and your individual crochet tension can also affect the finished size, so this quick check is well worth doing before you continue with the booties.
• yarn in dark brown, light brown and white, plus a small amount of red (4 ply, approx. 120 yds/1.75 oz or 110 m/50 g)
• crochet hooks D-3 (3.0 mm) and G-6 (4.0 mm)
• 10–15 safety pins and several stitch markers
• yarn needle for weaving in the ends
• sewing thread in dark brown and red, a small sewing needle and scissors
Feel free to play with the colors and make your little reindeer your own. A different shade of brown, a cream-colored cuff or a completely different color combination can work beautifully – although Rudolph might insist on keeping that red nose.
If you have any questions while working on the pattern, feel free to get in touch. I’ll be happy to help!
