DANTE mittens, knitting pattern for 5 sizes

The mittens Dante match perfectly the hat of the same name. I used the piping technique, striped bands and reverse stockinette stitch (which is knitted, not purled, you work inside out :-)) that invite you to mix colours to your hearts content! Again, I used the fantastic tweed wool from Ireland, but you can use any yarn with the same gauge.
The mittens are partly knitted flat, partly in the round.

17 Maschen x 26 Reihen = 10 x 10 cm

• Pattern for mittens in five sizes, ranging from kid‘s to men‘s size – well, the biggest size might be fine for your avarage grizzly bear, but as I tested the size anyway, I threw it in. You never know if you ever come across a grizzly with really cold paws and might have to bribe your way out ;-)
• Step-by-step instruction with pictures for piping, 3-needle bind-off and other more elabore techniques you will need.

• Colour 1: 55-60-65-80-100 g
• Colour 2: 20-25-25-25-30 g
• Pipe band colour: 15-15-15-18-20 g
  The yarn is really nice and so are the colours, but unfortunately, most of the pictures at commodum.ie and Ebay do not show the real thing. You might use my colours on this page as a guidance. Actually, the pictures on page 4 are not 100% true either, especially the blues (in reallity, they are more on the turquoise/petrol side) and the wine red (it looks a bit too bright on page 4).
