Crochet Pattern for toy policecar

As a mommy of a boy I know one thing for sure. Little boys (and also girls) can spend hours playing with fire trucks and police cars. And when it's time to go to bed, they even want to take them with them. With this crochet toy you can now make this dream come true! And of course it makes not only small but also big policemen and -women smile.

The pattern is an easy to follow step-by-step tutorial with many pictures. You should know some basic techniques as single crochets (in rounds and rows), increases and decreases. Others, which are less common, are explained in detail (as for example front and back post single crochets).

Gauge is not critical for this pattern, but you might want to note that I tested it with dk yarn and a 2,5 crochet hook. Using this yarn weight the policecar becomes about 12cm high. You will need about 1 skein of grey or white yarn, less than 1/2 skein of blue, grey and black yarn and some bits and pieces in yellow and red. Some soft filling, scissors and a needle should also be at hand.
