little mermaid doll or rattle crochet pattern

This mermaid doll is so tiny but with her bright smile she lights up your day!

She can either be done as small doll or figurine or as rattle for babys. It is not much yarn needed - you can even use some leftovers - and the pattern works out fast and easy.

This is a step-by-step-pattern with a lot of pictures, which makes it easy to follow. The pattern is made for beginners with some basic crochet skills such as magic ring, single crochets in rounds, increases and decreases. More advanced techniques are explained in detail in the pattern (such as back past single crochet or crocheting parts directly to the body).

Materials used are:
less than one skein of cotton yarn in colours for skin, tail, hair,
bits and pieces in a colour for the top, in black and red for the face,
filling,
crochet hook which is too small for the chosen yarn (I use a 2,5 hook for DK yarn)
needle and scissors and what else you need to crochet comfortably.

You may add a rattle, if you want (and if so, you find an explanation how to do so in the pattern).
