So why these sea creatures exactly? A finished octopus measures about 9 cm / 3 ⅝ " tall (not including tentacles). You can made larger/smaller with different hook sizes.
The pattern is worked in spirals; there will be no joining of rounds.

polyester wadding or filler for pillows - 25-30 gramm
fine knit cotton - 12 x 10 cm / 4 x 3 inches
