Skills needed: chain, slip stitch, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, treble crochet, magic ring, increase and decrease, colour changes.

Basket with chicken: 16 cm high, 20 cm wide, 25 cm long
Basket without chicken: 6 cm high, 14 cm wide, 17 cm long
Gauge: 20 stitches × 20 rows = 10 × 10 cm
• 150 g beige yarn, for hook size 3–3.5 mm
• 50 g brown yarn, for hook size 3–3.5 mm
• scraps in white, yellow and red
• some stuffing
• 1 pair of brown safety eyes, 12 mm
• crochet hooks 3 mm and 4 mm, darning needle, scissors
I used Schachenmayr Bravo – held double for the basket and the handle, single for all other parts.
