Product description

With this universal modular system, you can crochet your very own floppy teddy bear "Toddle" in three perfectly matched proportions (sizes S, M, and L).

The clever highlight of this pattern: arms and legs are seamlessly joined as you go while crocheting the torso – eliminating tedious sewing completely!

Skills Required / What You'll Receive

Difficulty Level
• Intermediate (Advanced Beginners)
• Reason: While the basic stitches are simple, joining the limbs directly as you go and working staggered rounds require a bit of focus and basic stitch understanding.

Required Skills / Prerequisites
To successfully crochet teddy bear "Toddle", you should be familiar with the following basic crochet techniques (US terms):
• Magic Ring (MR)
• Single Crochet (sc – explained in the dense X-stitch technique)
• Slip Stitch (sl st) and Chain (ch)
• Increases (inc – working 2 sc into one stitch) and Decreases (dec – crocheting 2 sc together)
• Crocheting in continuous spiral rounds

What You Will Get (Pattern Features)
Upon purchasing this pattern, you will receive a highly detailed digital file (E-Book) containing:
• Extensive step-by-step instructions as a PDF download.
• Complete crochet schedules for all three bear sizes (S, M, and L).
• Clear technical tables for all stitch counts, proportions, and real-life tested yarn references.
• Valuable pro tips for easy stitch marking and stitch neatness

Size Information

Final Size of the Crocheted Models:

Thanks to the flexible universal modular system, the teddy bear scales proportionally with absolute perfection.
The three real-life tested reference models achieved the following final sizes:
• Size S (Dusty Pink): approx. 34 cm / 13.5 inches (crocheted with a double strand of Gründl Baby uni & 5.5 mm hook)
• Size M (Brown): approx. 25 cm / 10 inches (crocheted with a single strand of Schachenmayr Bravo & 3.0 mm hook)
• Size L (Light Blue): approx. 48 cm / 19 inches (crocheted with fluffy Maxee Chenille yarn & 4.0 mm hook)

Important Note on Custom Size Variation:
The final size of your teddy bear can be completely customized and varied according to your own preferences!
You can work this pattern with absolutely any type of yarn.
By choosing thinner or thicker wool, utilizing fluffy plush yarn, or crocheting with a double strand, you can easily determine and alter the final scale of your bear all by yourself.

Materials List

Required Materials:

• Yarn Modular System (Main Color): You can use any yarn of your choice. My three reference models required the following exact amounts:
• Size S (Dusty Pink): 180 g of Gründl Baby uni. Note on scale: This model was crocheted using a double strand (two threads held together) and a 5.5 mm hook. Due to the double strand, this Size S teddy turned out significantly larger and bulkier (34 cm / 13.5 inches) than the regular Size M model!
• Size M (Beige/Brown): 100 g of Schachenmayr Bravo (crocheted with a single strand and a 3.0 mm hook → final size 25 cm / 10 inches).
• Size L (Light Blue): 300 g of Maxee Chenille yarn (plush yarn crocheted with a single strand and a 4.0 mm hook → final size 48 cm / 19 inches).
• Yarn Scraps: Some black yarn for the button nose (e.g., Woll-Butt Camilla), optional white/cream for a contrasting muzzle, and a white scrap (e.g., thin cotton yarn) for the crocheted eye backings.
• Crochet Hook: Matching your chosen yarn (tested with 3.0 mm / 4.0 mm / 5.5 mm).
• Eyes: 1 pair of black safety eyes (Size S: approx. 10 mm / M: approx. 12 mm / L: approx. 14 mm).
• Stuffing: High-quality polyester fiberfill (approx. 50g to 250g depending on the size).
• Tools: Blunt yarn needle, scissors, and a smooth piece of contrast yarn to use as a stitch marker.

Optional for Size S: A small rattle ball (20–24 mm).
