Crochet an Easter basket – a crochet pattern as a PDF for instant download, in English and in German, for a grey little basket with a bunny face, ears and paws.

A little basket to fill, with a bunny face on the front: big eyes above a white muzzle, a dark pink nose, two ears that get folded over at the head, and two paws with pink pads that sit over the rim. The handle turns it into a basket a child can carry.

The basket is worked in rows with a double strand of yarn, which makes it firm enough to stand on its own. Every round and every row is written out separately with the stitch count, and all the steps from the flat cross shape to the finished face are shown in photos.

Chains, single crochet, slip stitches, half double crochet, double crochet, magic ring, increases and decreases. Some parts are worked in rows (turning with a chain), some in rounds – each part says which.

Every round and row is written out separately, the stitch count is given at the end, and the steps are shown in photos. At the end there is some sewing, and the felt pieces for the paws are glued on.

Gauge: 26 stitches × 24 rows = 4 × 4 inches.
Worked with hook sizes C and G (3 mm and 4 mm) and yarn for hook size 3 – 3.5 mm, the basket with a double strand of yarn.
With a different yarn or hook size the basket turns out smaller or larger accordingly.

• 100 g of yarn in grey, for hook size 3 – 3.5 mm (I used Schachenmayr Bravo)
• left-overs in white, dark grey, black and dark pink, for hook size 3 – 3.5 mm
