PACHIRA Toe up Socks

Product description

eryone knows: the Money Tree (Pachira aquatica), with its large palmate leaves and braided trunk. Native to Central America, this plant is extremely easy to care for, stores water in its trunk, and is considered a symbol of good luck and prosperity in Asian cultures.

Design Details
The idea behind Pachira was to create a unisex design that fits everyone perfectly. And let's face it – cables are always a great choice! The specific arrangement of these cables opens up the design and gives the ribbing in between a beautifully flowing, sweeping arch.

Construction
These socks are worked Toe-Up, meaning they are started at the toe and knitted toward the leg. The cast-on is worked using the Turkish Cast-On. Before starting the inverted sweet-heart heel, stitches are increased for the gusset. The sweet-heart heel is shaped using short rows. Afterward, the stitches along the edges of the heel flap are decreased back to the original count. The cables can easily be worked without a cable needle.

All techniques used are fully described within the pattern or include a link to a corresponding tutorial.

Socks can be knitted in various ways: double-pointed needles (DPNs), CraSy Trios, short circulars, Magic Loop, etc. This pattern was specifically written for use with the Magic Loop or Trio method: The 2 cable sections of the Magic Loop are referred to as Needle 1 and Needle 2 throughout the instructions
