REGRANNY shawl
Design and pattern: Imke von Nathusius (Instagram: @Imke_von_Nathusius)
Tech editing: Maria Erdmann (Instagram: @greenermakes)
Sometimes, it’s the smallest adjustments that make the biggest difference! Inspired by Sandra from my local yarn store Wollmeisterei in Duesseldorf, I’ve given the classic granny stitch a modern upgrade.
The result is the REGRANNY shawl: a piece that preserves the nostalgic charm of the granny look while introducing a completely new, improved shape. No more bulky fabric at the front, and extra-long ends for a perfectly wearable fit.

GAUGE
It is recommended to start the shawl directly with your chosen yarn and matching hook size. After a few centimeters/inches, you can wash and block or steam-block the shawl to see if you like the fabric and adjust the hook size if needed.
1 cluster = (3 dc + ch 1)
Sample 1: 4.5 clusters x 9 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 inches) in granny pattern, after blocking
Sample 2: 5 clusters x 9 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 inches) in granny pattern, after blocking
