Crochet Pattern: Dragon
Several helpful videos are available to accompany the crochet instructions, clearly explaining the
individual steps and making it easier to follow along. The PDF file also contains over 100 images that
visually support the entire creation process.
All video links can be found directly in the instructions. Simply click on them or copy them into your browser.
The following videos are currently available:
1. Head off round 13 – Here I show you how to crochet the nose and mouth.
2. Attaching the eyes and inserting the splint – Instructions for inserting the safety eyes and the splint
for attaching the head.
3. Fixing the smile – How to give the dragon a friendly face.
4. Connecting the head to the body using a joint set – With joint discs for mobility.
5. Crocheting the elbows – Instructions for rounds 13 and 14.
6. Crocheting the dragon's tail.
7. Tinting
The dragons can look so different even when made from the
same crochet pattern – sometimes with horns, spots, and a scarf, and sometimes quite
simple without.
These adorable dragons are crocheted from soft chenille yarn and stand approximately
25 cm/10 inches tall. The final size may vary depending on the thickness of the yarn and
the crochet hook used—thinner yarn will result in a smaller dragon, while thicker yarn
will make a larger one. Feel free to use any yarn you like, just be sure to choose the right
hook size and have enough material.
The head is attached to the body using joint discs, allowing it to turn in different
directions. Alternatively, you can simply sew the head on—both methods are explained
in the pattern. The arms and legs are securely sewn to the body. The teeth and tongue
are crocheted from thin yarn and then sewn on.
The pattern does not contain basic course of crocheting – you should already have the basic knowledge.
The pattern includes 25 pages.
Difficulty: middle
Not for beginners.
