This crocheted handbag is a wonderful project if you want to use leftover yarn.
I crocheted a fairly large model as I also want to use it as a laptop bag.
But in fact any size is possible, from very small, e.g. for a cell phone and handkerchiefs, to very large, like this one.
There are no limits to your imagination!
I wish you lots of fun crocheting!
You should know a little bit about crocheting. At least you should be reasonably familiar with working in the round and double crochet, relief double crochet, single crochet, and chain stitches ;)
Otherwise, anyone can make this bag—even beginners.
The basic shape is a granny square. Mine had the size of 82 cm. You are free to choose the size. This can also be decided in the middle.
Material:
• This bag contains approx. 400 grams of yarn with a running length of 110-135 m per 50 grams. You should avoid too much variation in the running length. Of course you need less if you want the bag to be smaller, but I recommend you just start and see where it takes you.
• I used leftover yarn in pink and rose and also black Catania cotton yarn.
• In my experience, it is good to crochet the stable and solid Catania in between again and again, as not all yarn remnants are as strong.
• Of course, this is not necessary if you are using strong yarns anyway.
• And now the really sensational thing: You can use any yarn as long as it doesn't stretch and there are no greater differences in running length than 25 m per 50 grams.
• Be brave, dare to try something new in terms of color, I'm excited!
• Otherwise you will need lining fabric or, as in my case, iron-on fleece:
• 1m Freudenberg H180 black Vlieseline iron-on interlining Vlieseline 90cm wide
Working materials:
• Crochet hook size 4 (german size)
• pins
• Surface for stretching
• Baking paper
• Needle for sewing
• Scissors
Optional:
Wool Cakes also work wonderfully!
No resale of the instructions, or reproduction, etc.
Also no sale of a finished part!
But it would be really wonderful if you could show your finished pieces here. That motivates others, hat inspires others, and it's always great to see how different tastes are and how beautiful each individual piece is!
