Brevi Shawl - Short Row Knitting Pattern

Product description

FREE as a Christmas gift from 24th of December 2024 until 31st of January 2025!

With the given gauge and yarn amount, my shawl has a size of 200 x 100 cm (79 x 39 inch).

Gauge: 17 sts x 47 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 inch)
However: Your gauge will most definitely vary. As long as the fabric feels soft and squishy and not too dense, it’s fine.

The Brevi Shawl is fully adjustable and can be worked at any gauge with any yarn and any meterage/yardage.
The only thing you should care about: Find 2 colors that are contrasting well! If you‘re unsure, make a picture of both and turn into a black and white picture. If they kind of look similar, they aren‘t high enough in contrast.
I provide you tutorials for all important steps as pictures. If you need additional videos, please use the ones linked in the pattern.

Skills Required / What You'll Receive

  • Knit
  • Slip stitches as if to purl
  • w&t (is explained)
  • kfb
  • I-Cord (is explained).

Suitable for ambitious beginners who try to learn new techniques!

Size Information

Fully adjustable.

Materials List

  • I used a gradient colored yarn called „Bobbel“ in Germany. They are not plied (in my case 3 threads held together) and available in a lot of colors! My specific yarn is unfortunately not available anymore. But you can actually choose any yarn with any gauge.
  • Original: 500m/100g (547yds/3.5 oz)
  • I used about 400m/80g (437yds/2.8oz) of the Main Color (MC), which was a gradient.
  • I used about 300m/60g (328yds/2.1oz) of the Contrast Color (CC), which was black.
  • Circular needles with 80-100cm (30-40 inch) length, size 2.75mm (US:2, UK: 12) or size to match your yarn choice.
  • Darning needle.

The pattern is written out.
