wozu braucht man die Drehung bei einem Loop bzw. was ist der Sinn eines Möbius-Schals?

Bei Wikipedia gibt es eine Erklärung zum Möbius-Band, welches seinen Namen von August Ferdinand Möbius hat.
Die Drehung macht den Schal (Loop) interessanter.
Im Mathematikum, Gießen gibt es eine größere Möbius-Schleife aus Metall.
Darauf befinden sich Spielzeugautos, die sowohl oben als auch auf der Unterseite ihre Runden drehen können.
Davon gibt es Fotos im Netz.
