Tangs have razor sharp spines at the root of their tail. These are also called scalpel. This weapon is carried by the tangs so that they can defend themselves or attack. Tangs rarely actually attack, however, only when there is a good reason to do so. So we don't need to be afraid of Doris the Royal Blue Tang, because there is no reason to attack in our Amigurumi world. And what's more, thanks to cotton yarn, Doris scalpel is cuddly soft and not razor-sharp.
Did you know that tangs are diurnal and search for food all day long. Because of their low energy content, they are forced to eat constantly. That's why they seem so busy. Isn't that adorable?
When they are still young, the fish swim through the reef in a school. After two years they are fully grown. They even live up to 20 years, which is extremely old for a fish. As adult fish they usually live together as a pair. So you can still crochet your Doris a man.

First crochet the head and body of Doris the Royal Blue Tang. This is started at the head and it ends with the tail fin. For the color change that is always required, invisible color change is made beforehand (will be explained).
Then crochet all the other fins separately and sew them to the body.

Doris the Royal Blue Tang is 11 cm long including the tail fin and 8.5 cm wide at the wide part and 2 cm at the narrow part. If you want to crochet a larger or smaller version, you can use a thicker or thinner yarn and a thicker or thinner crochet hook for this.
