Crochet Pattern: Epines Beanie, Hat for Babies, Children & Adults 7 Sizes

This hat is guaranteed not to be a summer hat. This beanie recalls back to the warm summer days. One of my crochet testers said that the pattern reminds of melted ice cream. I really like this description.

The hat starts with an easy-to-crochet brim: it is crocheted exclusively in single crochet stitches. The brim has a special feature: I don't like it at all when the hat slips into my face. So I looked for a solution for this and found it: At the front of the face, the brim is wider than at the back of the neck. Try it yourself - I love it!

For the main part (the melted ice cream) stitches are picked up from the ribbing and crocheted straight up. The height of the hat ends slightly higher than the head is high. So you get a loose, casual and slouchy fit. No stitches are decreased. At the end the yarn is pulled through the stitches and the hole is simply pulled shut.

I hope the finished hat gives you as much joy as it gives me.
