Samiya - Shawl

“Samiya” means “winter” in Bambara (language in Mali). It is a flat triangular shawl with simple, coordinated patterns and lots of post double crochets, so just right for the cooler seasons.

The patterns are easy to crochet and doable even for beginners. The shawl is perfect for color gradient yarn/bobbles, but is also an absolute eye-catcher in uni.

The instructions consist of a detailed written part and an easy-to-read crochet chart created on the PC, a photo tutorial and sample images. In addition, at the end of the instructions there is a table of reference values from the test team with all information on consumption, material, needle size, size etc.

Difficulty level: 1-2

The following stitches occur:

ch- chain
sc - single crochet
dc - double crochet
hdc - half double crochet
tr - treble crochet
fpdc -front post double crochet
bpdc - back post double crochet
puff st. - Piff stitch *Photo tutorial at the end of the pattern
(optionally with 3 or 4 envelopes depending on the material)

You can work the shawl in any size.

The shawl in the title picture was 201 x 49 cm.

I used the Funny Hooks Bobbel "Fading Rainbow", 1150 m, 3-ply with a Hooksize 3.50 mm

You can work Samiya with any yarn. Gradient yarn is particularly suitable :)
