Yellow Ribbon For Dog´s

A Swedish campaign has been spreading the idea since 2012, that a yellow ribbon on the dog signals "My dog needs a little more distance".

The Yellow Ribbon is now known and recognized in many countries.

There can be very different reasons why the dog needs more distance:

• The dog may be ill, including contagious.
• The dog may be in training, e.g. to become a therapy dog or simply in daily training.
• The dog may be in rehab or simply old.
• The dog may be an animal welfare dog and is still afraid of its surroundings.
• The dog may have had bad experiences and does not want to greet strangers (no matter how friendly) just like that.
• It may be a female dog in heat.

The yellow ribbon on the dog does not serve to label it as a problem dog, but rather merely serves to make life less stressful for dogs and owners in different situations.

Required Knowledge:

• single crochet

Size:

• The finished ribbon is approx. 3" high and 5" inches wide with my specified wool / needle.
• You can use any wool and needle size, depending on your choice the ribbon will be larger or smaller.
• You can also cast on more or fewer chain stitches and rows, so you can customize the ribbon to your dog's size.

You need:

• Light (US) / Light Worsted (UK) / 240m~100g (EU) Wool in yellow e.g. Zeeman Royal or gründl Lisa uni or wool of your choice
• Crochet hook F (US) / 8 (UK) / 4,0mm (EU)
• Scissors
• Sewing needle
• Stitch marker
