Crochet Shawl Pattern "Nordseestrand"

"Nordseestrand" is German for North Sea Beach. This is a super-easy-to-do crochet shawl.

The stitch pattern is inspired by the textures that you can find on the seabed at the North Sea.

The shawl is worked top-down and can be finished at any size.
You can make the shawl in one colour, with stripes or with gradient yarn, just as you like.

You need to know: Chain, single crochet, slip stitches.

You'll need:

• 500 - 600 m / 540 - 650 yds sport or DK weight yarn
  e.g. Schachenmayr Catania Denim, 125 m / 50 g, 100 % cotton
  1 x 50 g col. 102 Natur
  1 x 50 g col. 153 Hellblau
  1 x 50 g col. 152 Jeans
  2 x 50 g col. 150 Nachtblau

• a crochet hook size 3 - 3.5 mm / US D - E / UK 11 - 9 or suitable for your yarn

• 3 pieces of waste yarn in contrast colour, approx. 30 cm / 12 in long, for marking where to increase
