Crochet a dog – Leo, the sitting cuddly dog with a leash (EN & DE)

Leo is a sitting dog in natural white, 20 cm / 8 inches tall and 15 cm / 6 inches long. He has a big black button nose, embroidered eyebrows, one ear that folds forward and a small red tongue hanging out of the side of his mouth. A leather-string leash is attached to his collar – he looks as if he wanted to head straight out for a walk.

His signature detail are the four legs: they are crocheted on into the body instead of being sewn on one by one. That saves sewing and makes him steady – he sits up all by himself. How it works is explained step by step and with photos in the pattern.

The finished dog is about 20 cm / 8 inches tall and 15 cm / 6 inches long.

Gauge: 24 stitches x 22 rows = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4 inches (Schachenmayr Catania, hook size 3 mm / C). With thicker or thinner yarn he turns out correspondingly bigger or smaller.
