IMPORTANT: You are buying a PDF crochet pattern, NOT the finished stocking.
This pattern is included in English AND German – both PDF versions are part of the download.
A large Christmas stocking in red with a light green cuff, a green stripe and a little loop for hanging. On the front sits a penguin with a white belly, an orange beak, a striped scarf and a striped pointed hat with a white brim and pompom. Stocking and penguin are crocheted separately and sewn together at the end – the stocking stays open at the top and can be filled.
If you run into any trouble, or if an error has slipped in somewhere: please message me FIRST, before leaving a review – we'll sort it out together!
Required skills: chain, single crochet, slip stitch, half double crochet, magic ring, increase and decrease.
The pattern is a detailed step-by-step PDF with lots of photos. Every round/row is written out individually, with stitch counts.
Skill level: intermediate – several pieces (stocking, leg, hanging loop, penguin, belly, beak, scarf, hat), but all worked in basic stitches.
Finished size: the stocking measures approx. 30 × 25 cm.
Gauge: 26 stitches × 24 rows = 10 × 10 cm / 4 × 4 in.
Yarn used: Schachenmayr Catania. The stocking is worked with the 3 mm hook, all other pieces with the 2.5 mm hook.
• 100 g red
• 50 g light green
• scraps in black, white, green and orange
• one white pompom, approx. 2 cm in diameter
• a tiny bit of stuffing (for the beak only)
• 2 black half beads, 8 mm
• crochet hook 2.5 mm and 3 mm, darning needle, scissors, glue
You are welcome to sell your finished stockings, as long as you include a note "Made from a pattern by Masche-fuer-Masche" with a link to my shop. The pattern itself is for private use only – it may not be sold, gifted, shared or published in any way, in any language.
You can download the pattern immediately after receipt of payment.
