MATERIALS AND TOOLS

• Sand-colored velour yarn. Weight - Lace / 2 ply (Yardage - 602 yards (550 meters), unit weight - 100 grams (3.53 ounces)
• Oddments of the same weight dark brown yarn – for hoofs.
• Oddments of beige or white yarn – to work up antlers.
• 2 black beads for the pupils (3 mm)
• Hook matching the yarn. I used 1.3 mm (UK steel - 5 ½, US steel - 10) Please note that you should use much thinner hook than stated at the yarn label.
• Stuffing: hollofiber or padding polyester
• Copper wire for the frame (you should be able to bend it with hands but it shall keep the form). Consumption depends on the yarn weight and the gauge. I used 130 cm (52 inches) of wire 2 mm thickness.
• Sewing thread of matching colors for sewing small details.
• Sewing needle.
• Tapestry needle for tightening.
• Plaster adhesive-backed fabric tape 1-1.5 cm wide to work up the wire cuts. (The tape you use to cover wounds (first aid)).
• 6 sewing pins to secure nostrils on the muzzle.
• Super glue to glue yarn to the wire
  For eyes (options)
• Oddments of white yarn or
• 2 felt balls 7-8 mm diameter, if you have felting skills or
• 2 7-8 mm diameter white beads. You can make (or select beads) of different size for eyes, for example one – 7 mm, another – 9 mm.
  Optional
• Paint for tinting (you can use: brown eye shadow, acrylic paint for fabric, pastel, oil-base paint).
