I purchased the paws potholder.According to the chart row two ends up with 24 stitches.Does the ch3 count as a stitch and I’m not able to get 21 sc and an increase at the end. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong.

  Hello Shelly,
  Ch 3 is not counted in the final number of stitches for the row you have just finished.
  For the next row, you need to start crocheting from the second ch from the hook.
  Ch 3 at the end is a way of making an increase at the end of the row (for the next row) without crocheting an increase stitch.
