With this pattern you can crochet Gino the Giraffe, a detailed amigurumi giraffe with large crocheted eyes, horns, brown spots and a fluffy tail tuft.
Basic skills such as magic ring, single crochet, slip stitch, half double crochet, chain stitches, turning chains, increases and decreases are required. You will also work in the front loop only, in spiral rounds and rows, and make colour changes. The nose is shaped in rows and edged, the eyes are made from two crocheted parts, the ears are folded before sewing and the horns are worked in two colours. The tail tuft is created by knotting in acrylic yarn strands and brushing them with a pet grooming brush. The characteristic giraffe spots can be needle felted, crocheted and sewn on, or made from felt fabric. The pattern is 11 pages in PDF format with step-by-step photos. Skill level: advanced.
The finished figure is approx. 25 cm tall.
• 100% cotton yarn in yellow, brown, black and white
• 100% brown acrylic yarn for the tail tuft
• Yarn used: approx. 2 balls yellow, less than 1 ball of each other colour
• 2-3 mm crochet hook
• Stuffing
• Metal-bristle pet grooming brush or fine-tooth comb
• Small white felt dots
• Craft glue
• Brown felting wool and felting needle for the spots
