Celeste, the friendly Voodoo-Doll - Amigurumi Crochet Pattern

Celeste has magic in her veins. She’s mysterious, a little eccentric and nowhere near as spooky as you might expect a voodoo doll to be. Most of the time, she sticks to white magic and is (almost) always perfectly friendly.

Every once in a while, though, one of her spells doesn’t go quite according to plan. Things start flying around the room and Celeste’s already wild hair ends up pointing in every possible direction. No humans have ever been harmed during her magical experiments – although the occasional frog might disagree.

With this amigurumi crochet pattern, you can make Celeste yourself, complete with her wonderfully wild hair, button eye and quirky little details. She’ll feel right at home among pumpkins and candles in your Halloween decor, but there’s no reason to put her away once October is over. She also makes an unusual handmade gift or a delightfully eccentric little companion to keep around all year.

Skill level: suitable for confident beginners. Basic crochet skills are required.

You should be familiar with:
magic ring, chain stitches, slip stitches, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet and working in continuous spiral rounds.

Using the suggested materials, Celeste will be approximately 21 cm (8.3 in) tall, including her fabulous hair – or about 15 cm (6 in) without it.

Your finished Celeste may turn out slightly larger or smaller depending on your yarn, hook size and individual crochet tension.

Of course, your Celeste doesn’t have to look exactly like mine. Different hair colors, leftover yarn and slightly unusual color combinations suit a little voodoo doll who isn’t particularly interested in following the rules anyway.
