Knitting pattern shawl, wrap "Eryn"

Product description

Eryn is the elvish word for forrest or wood. I named this nice half-circle shaped shawl after the twining leaf motif segment in the center.

The shawl is knitted top-down starting with a traditional center stitch which will separate later. If you want, you may place beads in the leaves.
A fringed edge is a special highlight and gives the shawl the trendy "Boho look''.

The shawl is wearable in versatile ways. You can wear it as a wedding accessoire or close it with a brooch and wear it as a poncho.

Finished size after blocking approx. 180 x 73 cm (70 x 28 in)
Gauge 25 stitches x 30 rows = 4 in, stockinette stitch, needle size 3.5 (US 4)

Needed materials

  • approx 1000 m (1093 yds) of yarn (e.g. Cotton, Merino, Linen, handwound designer yarn – the chosen yarn should not be thicker than fingering weight), total needed for the 1st part approx. 30%, for the 2nd part approx. 70%
  • circular knitting needle matching the yarn used
  • 2 – 4 stitch markers
  • beads (e.g. Rocailles)
  • a piece of very thin wire to place the beads onto the stitches. You can also use dental floss
  • crochet hook for knotting the fringe
  • sewing needle
  • scissors
  • cable needle

The pattern is tried and tested, it runs 18 pages and contains a row-by-row-section and detailed charts. There's no need to print all pages!
Skill level: intermediate.
