MATERIALS AND TOOLS

• Any yarn in skin, yellow, red and orange colors. I used “Cotton Gold” by ALIZE (55% cotton, 45% acrylic, 330m/100g) – 15 g of yellow, 10 g of skin, small amount of red and orange;

• Matching crochet hook (I used 1.75 mm – approximately US 6, UK 3 1/2);
• Four black beads or half beads for the eyes (I used 7 mm in diameter) for the eyes of the doll and the eyes of the chicken;
• Any stuffing;
• Tapestry needle;
• Single core copper electrical wire – I used approximately 30 cm (11.8 inches) of wire 1.5 mm in diameter;
• Fabric tape 1 cm wide to work up the wire ends;
• Transparent glue;
• A piece of thick cardboard or plastic for the insoles;
• Red embroidery thread for the mouth;
• Sewing pins;
• A piece of white felt for the chicken’s whites of the eyes and a piece of red felt for the beak (you can embroider or crochet them instead).
