IMPORTANT: You are buying a PDF crochet pattern, NOT the finished cow.
This pattern is included in English AND German – both PDF versions are part of the download.
A shaggy little highland cow to crochet: with a fluffy cinnamon coat, curved horns, a gentle muzzle and its own cowbell. The typical shaggy look is created simply by weaving in threads – a cosy, rustic little alpine mascot for the shelf, as a gift or as décor.
If you run into any trouble, or if an error has slipped in somewhere: please message me FIRST, before leaving a review – we'll sort it out together!
Required skills: magic ring, chain, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, increase and decrease. The pattern is a detailed step-by-step PDF with photos. Every round/row is written out individually, with stitch counts. Skill level: intermediate – very doable, many small parts and some sewing; the shaggy look comes from woven-in threads.
Finished size: approx. 20 cm tall, approx. 20 cm long including the tail. Gauge: 26 stitches × 24 rows = 10 × 10 cm (2.5 mm hook). Yarn used: cotton yarn (e.g. Schöller & Stahl / Schachenmayr Catania).
approx. 100 g cinnamon (main colour: body, legs, ears, tail)
scraps of coffee (hooves / top of legs)
scraps of beige (muzzle, horns, cowbell)
a little brown (strap of the bell)
1 pair of black safety eyes, 8 mm
1 pair of black safety eyes, 5 mm (nostrils)
stuffing
crochet hook 2.5 mm, darning needle, scissors
You are welcome to sell your finished cow, as long as you include a note "Made from a pattern by Masche-fuer-Masche" with a link to my shop. The pattern itself is for private use only – it may not be sold, gifted, shared or published in any way, in any language.
You can download the pattern immediately after receipt of payment.
