TeaCosyFolk's Pterodactyl Tea Cosy Knitting Pattern

Product description

If you’ve ever wanted a prehistoric guardian for your teapot, this Pterodactyl Tea Cosy is ready to swoop in! Knitted flat on two needles and sewn together, the cosy is wonderfully fun to make. The body forms the main cosy, while the head — complete with its Tomato‑red Pteranodon‑style crest — is knitted separately so it can perch proudly on top.

Gingerbread and Copper yarns give him a warm, earthy look, and his wings fold neatly at his sides as if he’s settled down for a well‑earned brew. Little claws and toes hint at his feet, adding to his quirky charm.

His 21mm green cat safety eyes, framed with knitted eyelids, give him a brilliantly watchful expression — part guardian, part mischief‑maker. The finished cosy fits a medium teapot holding 6–8 cups or around 2 pints.

The pattern is a 6‑page PDF and will be ready to download instantly after purchase. This listing is for the knitting pattern only, so you can knit your own prehistoric tea companion.

I knitted the heilan cow and it's so realistic with the loopy texture for the hair. Also great fun to knit.
