Little lion Leo isn’t actually as wild as his name might suggest. He loves to sit quietly, listen to what’s going on around him, and let the wind ruffle his mane. Sometimes he seems brave for a moment, then dreamy again—and that’s exactly what makes him so lovable.
As you crochet him, a small companion gradually comes to life, with a button nose, round little ears, and a bushy tail. One who fits nicely on a shelf, waits on the sofa, or simply keeps you company in a calm, quiet way.
This pattern is a 14-page PDF file and includes 43 photos.
You should be familiar with the basic stitches (chain stitches, single crochet, slip stitches) as well as increases and decreases.
The lion is crocheted in continuous rounds (spiral rounds) and rows.
Difficulty level: easy
Using the specified yarn and hook size, the lion will be approx. 14 cm tall when sitting, and about 18 cm long when lying down.
• Cotton yarn (e.g. 125–170 m/50 g): Beige, Cream, Black
• Crochet hook 2.5 mm
• Stuffing (optionally add some pellets/rice in the bottom for stability)
• Safety eyes 12 mm (or embroider the eyes)
• Tapestry needle, stitch marker, scissors
